Brown Mt. NC
Directions: From Charlotte, NC, Take Hwy. 27 N. off of I-85. Follow 27 to Hwy. 18 N, stay on 18 to Morganton, Once in Morganton 18 turns into Hwy. 181 N. stay on 181 till you come to Perry's Space Station (a very small gas station, its on the right about a mile before Steel Creek camp ground) take the next road to the right, Brown Mt. Beach Road. The OVR is off of Brown Mt. Beach Road it's on the left, refer to the Map for parking and trail system.

Cost: $5 Per day / Per Person

Callalantee Stables & Campground, Tennessee
Directions:

From Boone, N.C. take 421 North 20 miles to Mountain City Tennessee. At the third traffic light, turn onto highway 418 to 91. Go 2 1/2 miles and turn right on Furnace Creek Road which is the entrance to Callalantee. Look for signs.

Uwharrie, NC
Directions:
From Charlotte, NC, Take I-85 N. to Hwy. 49 E. Stay on 49 E. once you pass Badin Lake look for 109. Take 109 S. about 10 miles to Eldorado Outpost once at the outpost take the next road to the right (road #1153) refer to Uwharrie Trail map for parking and trail system

Local Towns Include: Eldorado, Uwharrie, and Troy. All these towns are on Hwy. 109

This trail system includes lots of trails, hills, rocks, off the trail, hard to find, mud.
Helmets are not required
There is a $5 per day/per person fee
System is closed during wet season.
Open from April 1 - Dec 15

Consist of over 1,700 acres nestled in the beautiful Brushy Mountains of Alexander County, North Carolina. Trails range from intermediate to expert with elevations ranging from1300'-2500' above sea level.

West Virginia
Hatfield-McCoy Recreation Area
NOTE:This trail system I have not yet experienced.
There are over 200 miles of trails awaiting the ATVer in the state of West Virginia.
There is a $25 fee for a 3 day permit.

From Gastonia, NC  It is estimated to be a 5+ hour drive to the trails head.
I will be planing a trip very soon.

Lots of MUD. More house's moving in, trails shrinking, timber is being logged.
Reports of people receiving tickets for riding. But this has not been confirmed.

Trail system crosses South Fork River in more than one spot.

Crouse, NC
Due to house's, trail's are becoming divided. Some road riding is required to access different trails.
